"time waiting for pharmacy"

I was told by my consultant that i could go home(1/10)this was 08'30 .i did not leave the ward until 17'50 because i was waiting all that time for medication to be sent up from the pharmacy,this exact thing happened in May 2010 when i was in for surgery.i know departments are busy but it beggars belief to wait that long.
