"Elmstead day unit, endoscopy day unit"

About: Colchester General Hospital

I went into the above unit with lots of trepidation but after a wait of an hour (was informed there had been an emergency) I was called into the ward where a nice staff nurse went over my details and told me about my procedure (colonoscopy ) afterwards into the ward where another lovely nurse explained yet again what was to happen and helped me into the gown. Immediately I was taken into the examination room. A consultant gastroenterologist did the procedure he explained in detail what he was doing and made the whole procedure easy. I was impressed throughout to such a degree I felt I had to report my feelings. I had been told often how bad it was at Colchester hospital so was not looking forward to it but can assure anyone using the above department do not worry you will be well looked after if my visit has anything to go by.
