"Changes on Seacole Ward "

About: Forensic mental health / Low secure services

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

" It has been hard to cope with the change of ward manager and doctor. They say it's a hospital so there so no punishment or punitive measures-all consequences should be met with therapy but there are some patients that take the p**s and because there is no punitive measures-it makes it really uncomfortable for the rest of us-it is aimed at us. The last 2 or 3 months there has been a couple of troublesome patients. I feel that they have been shooting their mouths off and getting away with murder, as there are no punitive measures. "

I understand it must be difficult sometimes having to live with people who you wouldn't chose to live with under different circumstances.

I would advise you to raise your concerns with the ward team. They will then be able to explore what is behind some of the behaviours you are talking about and why this is happening. They can support you in seeking a solution.

There are also community meetings on the ward which have been specifically set up to give patients a voice on issues of respect.
