"Nothing could have gone better"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My wife had a fall and landed very badly breaking her leg. I called 999 for an ambulance, because we are in a new build house I needed to give the operator additional information. I had hardly finished the call when the paramedic came in a first responder car. He examined my wife and give her pain relief. The ambulance arrived shortly after this and they then took my wife to the Dorchester County Hospital.

The paramedic and the ambulance crew were excellent, they latched onto our sense of humour and were able to lift our spirits, keeping up the chatter to stop us worrying.

Nothing could have gone better either with the paramedics or at the hospital.

Dear Visitor469

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your wife is making a good recovery.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the first responder and the ambulance crew who came to your aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
