"hip review"

About: Solihull Hospital

My 86 yr old mother was admitted to heartlands due to pain in her hip which had been replaced many years previously. She lay in a bed for nearly 4 weeks without receiving treatment. She was then transferred to Solihull hospital for hip revision where we were informed she had an infection around her false hip. I had to make several appointments to meet with her surgeon to find out what was wrong and how it was going to be treated as nobody appeared to know. I shared concerns from her first admission at heartlands about her serious weight loss. It has never been addressed and nobody not even the dietician appear to be concerned. Over all I feel the treatment received by an 86 yr old has been very poor. It is a shame as I champion the NHS and its staff so to have my mother let down in this way is not acceptable.
