My wife was on holiday on the island. She suffers from fast atrial fibrillation. She had an episode of this and I took her to the hospital at 10.30 Saturday night. No wait in A&E with the drunks here - just prompt kind efficient care. The on call doctor arrived after three minutes and was thorough in his approach; treating us with respect and involving us in the choices. Carol was admitted to a scrupulously clean ward which we found in the morning to have a sea view. Food was excellent; staff caring and disciplined. Treatment effective. I just wish we had such an establishment near our home on the mainland!
