"Outpatient Gastroscopy"

About: Broomfield Hospital

I had an emergency medical situation and my GP arranged for an emergency admission to Broomfield. In the hour that followed whilst getting organised to come into Broomfield the situation changed and the emergency admission was no longer required and was stood down. I was prescribed drugs in the meantime whilst awaiting urgent endoscopy. A few days later I received an appointment to attend just 8 days after the initial problem arose and was admitted as an outpatient on Saturday 27th September at 1:00 pm for a Gastroscopy. I write to say how impressed I was with the service and staff, and the hospital facilities. The admissions nurse, consultant and his team in Endoscopy, and the discharge nurse all made me feel that I wasn't just another patient but that they were there to help and advise me through my specific problem. Although I was a little apprehensive of the procedure about to be performed I was treated sympathetically and with care by all involved. I was seen promptly on arrival and was then taken directly to the endoscopy theatre for the procedure. By 13:30 I was in the recovery area being given tea and biscuits whist awaiting the written report and discharge. I am so impressed that I would like you to pass this on to the staff, and to the hospital CEO if at all possible. Thank you all once again.
