"A very positive experience"

About: Queen's Hospital, Burton Upon Trent / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had my baby boy there on christmas eve recently at 10. 29am

I have had two terrible previous births there, but for my third it was a very positive experience.

They put my faith back into the hospital, my midwife was lovely, so supportive and friendly. She listened and read my birth plan taking into account everything I wanted and stayed with me almost the whole time.

She kept me going without an epidural as she knew I was desperate for a natural birth, I even got a chance to have a water birth until the pain got too much. I'm just grateful I got the chance to have water for pain relief.

Had a slight complication with blood loss after the birth, not surprised he was a big boy 10lb 20z but the midwife kept me calm and informed.

The postnatal ward was brilliant such lovely staff, all the midwives were amazing and kept checking if I was ok.

I even recieved a christmas gift for me and my baby.

The consultants were very professional kept me at ease and managed to stop the blood loss, they kept trying to sort it without the need for theatre for which I am extremely grateful to them and the midwife for constantly checking.

Me and my husband were very happy overall with everything.

Would recommend to family and friends after that experience.

Dear Reviewer

Congratulations to you and your family on your new baby boy. We are sorry that you felt that your two previous admissions didn’t meet your expectations. I can assure you that your comments regarding the support and care received at this special time will be shared with staff involved. Whilst our staffs always endeavour to provide patients and their families with excellent care and support, it is always very rewarding to receive feedback on the care provided.

Kind regards
