"Absolutely rubbish"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

Have been in chorley hospital several times this year. Always on MAU unit following an adrenal crisis. A symptom of low cortisol is diaoreah and vomiting. Once patient is given hydrocortisone medication..this stops. However each time I.m taken to MAU, I'm put into isolation room and told must stay there 48 hrs. This is really ridiculous as I don't have a contagious bug. Last time I was placed in isolation room and although I could walk to bathroom...not allowed to leave isolation room. Therefore no where to go to the toilet. Was given a Komode which was too small to sit on. Was told I could have a larger one but they never followed through. I wAs on a drip, having lots of fluids and no wear to wee. Had to use a cardboard container and crouch over it on floor. . Felt like crying. Was so humiliating. The wee was never removed and I filled container almost to brim by end of day. I also had my period and no toilet paper available or nothing. When I asked for things the nurse said yes and smiled but closed door and didn't bother coming back. On my most recent visit... Was really upset. Nurse did not triage me when I arrived at MAU. Never did any swabs and never asked me to sign forms as per usual. My bed was not plugged in and I spent several hours sitting up in middle of night as couldn't lie bed flat. Nurse too busy to sort it out. It was as if they had forgotten about me even fete ringing bell several times. They were just busy. My biggest concern is that nurses are always busy. I'm supposed to take my meds at a certain time each day....but it is always between one-two hours late and I can get very sick if not on time. I have pointed this out several times but nurse simply says....you have a wait till it's your turn. Understandable but could collapse if I don't take my meds at correct time. When you ring bell and ask for something, nurse say... I'll ask or find out...but they never follow up no and never come back or tell you what's happening. I had to ask five times for paracetamol due to a major headache, due to not being given my meds on time. Each time I was told...they would go and ask doctor if I could have some...and after spending a whole day with banging headache. Nd constant requests ..my husband had to come in and bring some pain relief for me to help relieve the pain. I understand nurses are busy...but they have a habit of agreeing for the sake of agreeing and then doing nothing! I feel like they just say yes to appease, walk out the room and don't come back, them you have to ask again, and again and it happens repeatedly. I felt ill and collapsed after standing up. it was not recorded in my notes and I actually read.... "Patient is feeling much better". Maybe I shouldn't have read my notes but nurse left them on my bed and it peeves me off that I wasn't asked. One nurse tried to take Bp and when it didn't work she just made it up. I saw her do this and was really surprised. That was putting my health at risk.
