Wow my first experience of Wrexham park hospital. What a joke of a place. 5 days with only a ct scan!!! I wasn't even the patient my partner was. Came in Monday with a letter from doctor requesting urgent Medical attention with pains and content throwing up. We still had to wait 2hrs in the waiting area. The doctor forgot to get him pain relieve and asked a nurse, who then didn't come back. We got moved to another area down from A&E. I explained to the nurse about the pain relieve....20 minutes still nothing. I asked the doctor again to request his staff to actually give the pain relieve. The doctor said he would get my partner a ct scan either today or tomorrow. I expressed concerns 5 years ago a suspected tumour on his kidney. Tuesday came, been moved another 2 times and no ct scan. I asked why the ct hadn't been done. Nurse replied she would need to make a call to book it in. (Well do it!!) Wednesday my partner was then seen by the doctor that found suspected tumour 5 years ago and was in having ct scan within 15 minutes. "He has a kidney stone that might pass over night as it's near the bladder" so lots of water. Oh then we move wards again. Thursday he is then told by another person "you were never going to pass the stone you need a stent". So Thursday no food or drink all day. We heard if your not down in theatre by 6pm it won't happen. The doctor and anaesthetist sure him and asked nurse to prepare him ready. Hours passed and nothing. I complained to the nurse and she tried for two hours to contact the powers that be and no response. A doctor come to see us at 8pm to say it won't be happening well we knew that but once again nobody is actually honest in this place. The nurse spend most of the day mopping up the "powers that be" rubbish!! I couldn't fault the nurses on ward 10 they were great. So Friday no food and water again. Morning doctor "we will try get it done today" I arrived at 13:15 requesting to see the doctor with an update which he did appear to say "yes let's get this done today" . 16:00 anaesthetist appears "still trying to get him in" emergency need to come first. I can under that but in five days he's had a 5 minute ct scan. Finely at 18:00hrs he went down.
