My much-loved mother died yesterday, after five days in the hospital. Throughout, and especially on the critical care ward, she and we were treated with great kindness and consideration - but never patronised. Staff explained sensitively but accurately what the position was, and their compassion, care and professionalism made our overwhelming sadness and sense of loss easier to bear.
"Competent, caring and compassionate"
