I live the fact that the referral is online! I found out a week ago that I was pregnant and I am very eager to attend my first appointment! Waiting to hear back from this but I understand that the midwives will not actually receive the referral until they have been sorted and sent to the department so obviously this is beyond their control. I'm usually very impatient which is why I have hated waiting these past 7 days but I hope I receive my appointment time soon! My friends have always given birth at medway and never had a bad experience so I have a lot of confidence that my first pregnancy will be just as great as theirs! Can't fault the midwives, thanks a lot x

Thank you for your comment regarding our online referral system. It has been in place for over two years now and we have found that it is a very convenient way for service users to access midwifery care and advice. We do still have other methods of referring yourself to Medway for pregnancy care, as we understand that not everyone is comfortable using or equally has access to a computer. Further information can be accessed on our website by selecting ' Our services' then 'Maternity services' and then ' Referring yourself to Medway'. Our community teams aim to contact you between 8 and 10 weeks of pregnancy so I hope that you have received your appointment by now, and you're happy with the care you've received.
