"Birth of my son"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I have heard so much negativity about Wansbeck General Hospital, but I myself have never experienced any problems.

I attended the delivery suite a total of three times throughout my labour, and found the midwives to be very helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

I was 999'd into hospital, and delivered my little boy a little while later. I could not have asked for a better midwife. Although my birth did not happen the way I would have liked, it was still an amazing experience and I would like to thank all the staff involved in my care. Especially to the lady who made my tea and toast, it was the best I've EVER had!

Dear Calvara,

Thank you for this kind and considerate review of the care you received from the maternity team at Wansbeck Hospital. I am really pleased that the midwife who cared for you made such a difference to your experience and I know this will mean a great deal to the whole team. It is very reassuring and extremely touching to know just how much you appreciated the care you received.

I hope both you and your little boy are thriving at home and if there is anything more we can do for you, please get in touch.

Best Wishes

Annie

Firstly, many congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. I hope you are enjoying many precious moments as a new family. Your feedback on maternity care at Wansbeck is lovely to read, thanks for taking the time to share it with us. I am glad that the team worked well with you to make you feel confident that you were getting all the care you needed. An emergency delivery and transit into hospital must have been frightening for you. I will ensure your thanks are passed on to all on the team. They will be really pleased to know how much you appreciated their kindness. Agree, nothing beats that first cuppa after giving birth does it ?!! Take great care of yourself and your little boy, Annie
