On the Wednesday my male partner had a minor unsuccessful surgical procedure in the Day surgery centre . When I came home on the Thursday he had a temperature of 40 o C /104 F and a very rapid pulse. On the telephone advice of the GP I drove straight to St Mary's A&E. Over the next six hours the staff at A&E could not have been more helpful , thorough , professional and communicative despite the tremendous and constant pressure that the A&E unit was under. He was given an ECG, Chest X Ray , blood and urine tests etc was transferred at 1am to Charing Cross who administered anti biotics by drip and did further tests . He was discharged on Sunday 21st with oral antibiotics. We were very impressed and grateful for the standard of care provided that night.
