I am not impressed at all by the fact that I went to see my GP on the 12th August and he referred me to the dermatology department, marking the referral as 'urgent', and I am still waiting for my appointment! The reason for the referral is due to a growth that has returned after suffering with it 10years ago and is causing me pain, embarrassment and discomfort. The growth is on my head, It bleeds heavily more than once a day on a daily basis and is embarrassing due to the fact the co workers and friends wonder why my hair can have blood stains on it, it has developed an odd odour which i suspect is an infection and is uncomfortable to sleep on. I called the hospital 4weeks ago and spoke to someone from the dermatology department and was fobbed off with the answer of 'we are trying to set up more clinics so you'll just have to wait', this is not good enough when a referral is sent as urgent. I contacted my GP to make sure they sent the referral in the first place and they confirmed that they had and that they would try and chase it up for me by contacting the dermatology department again, but I am still waiting. How long is an urgent appointment supposed to wait for?
