"My daughters stay"

About: Lister Hospital

The nurses were attentive but some had to be reminded to find out test results or just to tell me the result. My daughter was on Bluebell ward. Also, my daughter has hyperinsulinism so needed regular blood sugar checks. You are supposed to wipe the first bit of blood away as it could be contaminated but no nurses did. Perhaps they need a refresher course on this. My daughter has a lot of problems due to a genetic condition, she also has c pap because she has sleep apnoea. One morning the nurse tried to put the c pap mask back on my daughter but I said she's not asleep properly so will not want it on so she just left it half on her face and walked out of the room, I was speechless. The house keepers who serve the food are good, they make sure the parents have a breakfast. On a couple of occasions they had a spare meal at lunchtime so offered me one. Sometimes you don't go far from your child so I didn't always have a hot meal so that was good. They also had some Muller smooth yogurts which I cannot find in the shops anywhere. Could you let me know where the hospital get these from please?

We would like to follow up on your observations about the nursing team on Bluebell in particular, so would you mind emailing us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net. If you do that, we can also see what we can do about the yoghurts too!
