"Waiting for surgeons secretary to ring me back"

About: North Middlesex Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I received a letter and was informed I have a fatty lump in my stomach that can be excised if I wish and is so just to call them and they will arrange an appointment. The only number on the letter to call was 0208 887 the last four digits were missing. I rang the north mid and was given a secretary's number to confirm I wanted the operation it's now been 3weeks since I started calling to tell the secretary I wish to go ahead but every time I call it goes to her answer machine.

I've left 6 messages and haven't received a call back. Now I have to get my own doctor to write a letter saying I haven't been able to get a reply from the secretary regarding my operation which means another few weeks of being in pain in my stomach.

I have read your comments and am really sorry that you are experiencing difficulties. I am managing director for surgery, and if you could urgently email me michael.sunderland@nhs.net with further details I will resolve matters for you.
