About: The Maidstone Hospital

sat in a and e in a considerable amount of pain, they gave me oramorph and had a reaction they took me into majors and gave me some tablets to counteract it...i then didnt see a doctor for over an hour! they didnt even keep an eye on me to ensure my reaction was going down! i then decided as no one was telling me anything that i would go to the reception desk where i heard my name asking what was going on with me 2 staff just shrugged....little did they know i was right behind them! i then went up to the nurse in charge and asked her what was going on with me she replied that they were waiting for my bloods to come back (they hadnt even taken any blood from me at this point!) i then waited and waited, not once did they do my blood preasure or temperature (which was high) which should have been done during the 8 hours i spent in majors!! doctors were sitting behind there desk chatting away about paying rent and what they were gonna do saturday night! clearly had no time for the patients and didnt care that we were all very ill in our own way. i didnt even get a wrist band till i informed them that they actually shouldnt be giving me any medication without my wrist band being on! I also had to change all my drips myself as the nurse didnt seem concerned that i needed them....good job i know how to do all of this!! when the nurse put my first drip on she didnt even flush the port which i had to then remind her to do. she also hadnt cleaned the port with an antiseptic wipe...i had to yet again remind her to do this. i also had to remind her to wash her hands in between patients as i had been watching her very closely! after this trip to the a and e i decided to go home and go to pembury should my symptoms get worse! May be a bit further but atleast there staff seem to have more training.
