"Trip to orthopaedics outpatients"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

I attended the orthopaedics outpatients clinic today to have my staples removed from my knee, a follow up x-ray and general check up. The nurse/support worker I saw was brilliant. I was very nervous about having the staples removed so she listened to my concerns, explained the procedure, was very gentle, checked constantly that I was ok, and reassured me. She was excellent and a credit to the hospital. I would recommend her to anyone needing the same procedure. I wish all those in the health service followed her example. I felt important and genuinely cared for. The consultant is equally caring and reassuring and gives you great confidence that he knows what he is doing. These two make a great team.
