I was an overnight patient at the Foscote Hospital after having arthroscopy. The care received from the staff was second to none. They explained everything I needed to know and made sure that I understood what was to be carried out, the anaesthetic options and approximate times for return to the ward after surgery. Being a small hospital there was no delay in going to theatre and although I was there longer than first thought the staff were not in a hurry to get me back to the ward until I was ready. My partner was looked after and included in all consultation throughout my stay and made to feel he had a place there with me. The care from then on was excellent. Nurses were popping there head in to make sure that I was not in pain, had water or tea and generally looking after my wellbeing. As I could not sleep, the night nurse was making cups of tea and giving pain relief when required. The following morning after breakfast the physiotherapy required in the first few days was fully explained and demonstrated. The discharge process was at my speed and completely unhurried. I can not speak highly enough of the care received from everyone at the Foscote Hospital and want to thank them wholeheartedly.
