"Why does noone answer the phone?"

My partner was admitted as an emergency at 7am one morning. Two days later, I still hadn't found out where he was. I was given the wrong information at least 10 times, got put through to several random departments/wards, most of which didn't answer the phone at all. Those who did were stressed nurses who should have been treating patients, not trying to direct me to the right place. When someone is admitted as an emergency it really would help friends and relatives if someone knew where they were. Nightmare.
