Hello, I got admitted to the Acute Medical Unit on bank holiday Monday in August with suspected meningitis. I'm absolutely terrified of hospitals, but all the staff were really kind - especially the nurses who couldn't have been more reassuring - down to the cleaning staff who got rid of a massive spider from my room for me! A doctor was around to explain what was going on clearly and simply and what the next steps would be. I felt reassured and well looked after the whole time I stayed. Only 1 small negative was that I was forgotten from the lunch round one of the days and the man who chased it for me forgot to come back so I was quite hungry by dinner! Not a major thing and wouldn't put me off speaking positively about my experience (as much as I can considering how ill I was!) Thanks, Carrie
