"Fantastic gynae dept"

About: New Cross Hospital

After suffering for 12 months and being in and out of hospital which I was under a bowel specialist and had lots of tests done I never got an answer to my problem. My last appointment which was 31st jan I felt desperate for this as really thought I would get an answer as what was wrong with me I had told my consultant I was in agony every month and had seen a dr in a&e who kindly wrote me a letter for my bowel consultant saying they thought I could have endometriosis but the bowel specialist wasn't interested and said my only problem was constipation I was in tears and told them they weren't listening to me there was a nurse present I asked them if they understood me the specialist said they couldn't refer me to gynae as I had been seen and had scan previously so I ended up storming out in tears and went to my gp who referred me to gynae on the following Monday the consultant actually rang me and apologised on how our appointment went and had I got sorted with a gynae referral which I had as they said they had chatted to colleagues and I could have endometriosis with my symptoms shame they never listened to me at all previous appointments then three months later I got my appointment saw a fantastic doctor who examined me and diagnosed me and a month later they performed a full hysterectomy and I can not thank the doctor enough I feel they has given me my life back and the gynae ward staff were lovely I felt like I got to know them due to being in and out of hospital over the 12 months
