Whilst visiting a friend for dinner I suffered from a hypoglycemic episode where my blood sugar level dropped too low for me to take any action to raise it back up. My friend thought I was having a stroke and called for paramedics, concerned to get treatment as soon as possible.
The three paramedics who attended (Dave, Louise and Mike) were very good, they checked whether I was having a stroke during which time my friend told them I had diabetes. They then checked my sugar level, gave me a sugary substance and then, 10 minutes later when I had recovered slightly, made sure I drank some juice and had a banana to raise my level.
I was very pleased with the care I received, I’d give them 10/10 – they could not have treated me better.
