I went to A&E with a minor head injury, which I don't know how i had got, I had sustained the evening before under recommendation by colleagues and family. Every member of staff I spoke to at the hospital were disgusting. Starting with the receptionist who was abrupt and grumpy and chatting with colleagues. I then waited half an hour for a nurse to see me, who was continually questioning why I was there, assuming I didn't remember how I got the injury because I was drunk. The nurse then told me I would be seen by a doctor. The doctor basically just mocked me, every question the doctor asked me was done with a smug smile on the doctor's face, only really asking me how much I smoked and drank. The doctor then gave me a leaflet which I 'probably wouldn't need' and also suggested that 'someone has scratched my head', although I was suffering all the classic symptoms of concussion. The gentleman next to me was bought in by ambulance on his own after falling off his bicycle and breaking his collar bone. He was covered in blood, his clothes were ripped and he was in a lot of pain. He was left on his own in the waiting room for 45mins, even though the department wasn't busy. Disgusting service, made me feel like I had inconvenienced the staff, and should not have gone there at all.
