"Suspected lung clot"

I was sent into Royal Preston Hospital on the 28th December 2008 with a pain in my back similar to the one I had a number of years ago which turned out to be a clot on my lung. Fortunately I had been sensitive enough to get to the doctors early enough who then sent me to the hospital. As usual they were very busy. I was sent directly to the MAU where I was admitted. All the staff were very helpful and very nice. I was sent for x-rays and had blood tests. The following morning I was sent for a scan that showed no clot (thank goodness!) I was given Riperin injections just in case because the blood tests showed that the P. D was high so therefore if I had left it another couple of days it could have been very serious. So I am thankful to my own Dr and all the staff on the CIU ward. I then met the community matrons who got in touch with mine and explained everything to me. I was in for New Years Eve, the staff made us a cup of tea and we watched the fire world from the ward through the windows. I went home the day after New Years Day with a follow up to see my own specialist Dr Sing. I would like to thank Dr Howard and my matron.
