New to The area I was admitted to The hospital in an emergency situation . I am myself just retired from having worked in the medical profession for 39 years . The care I received in this hospital was outstanding . The medial trained staff were at all times caring , knowledgable , nothing was ever too much to get you better .I observed the treatment of elderly , demented patients with dignity , respect and being helped with feeding at every meal time . The expertise of the cardio vascular team is second to none , the nursing staff still has a smile for you even after a busy shift to cope with it all . The hospital food is appalling , I understand catered in from the outside , no real dietary provision for a diabetic person , every day the same mince meat based choice . Communication between outpatient desk and ward is not good , you are made to wait in outpatients for more than an hour , where if the ward had known you could have been sent down there later for your delayed appointment . All in all I only have praise for this hospital and Colchester can be proud to have such facility in town !
