From GP referral to final discharge by the consultant, the consideration and care provided to me by the NHS and Royal Berks Hospital was everything I would have hoped for. The operation was a complete success, and at every stage I was consulted and things were explained to me so that I was fully aware of all aspects of my operation, and I was confident to proceed, I want to mention Richard, who first assessed my condition and then gave me hand therapy post operation. He provided excellent care. The pre-op assessment team were very helpful and thorough. The ward which admitted me as a day patient and finally discharged me was excellent, and the nurses were attentive and caring, as were the nurses in the recovery room. I also want to mention the anaesthetist who was very supportive throughout the operation while I was under local anaesthetic. And finally the consultant and his team who operated on my hand. I would like to thank all those who helped restore my hand to its original condition for which I am truly grateful.
