"ACU DVT Clinic"

About: Watford General Hospital

I was sent by my GP on Thursday morning with a possible DVT, i was sent to ACU with the warning "you will be there most of the day" so I took my book ready to settle down. What a lovely surprise, I was met by the nurse that looked after my husband some time ago, and the department was I remembered, very friendly , helpful staff and very calm. To my surprise I was taken in straight away, and the nurse took blood "apologising that she might have bruised me" (not so), she then called another nurse from the dept. that deals with cellulitus, just to check there was none, another lovely girl. We were told that the department for doing the scan had a free slot, so I was walked up by a very pleasant young man, who waited to take me back. The young lady who did the scan, was very through and very kind. So my "long stay" was very short, I didn't even have time to get my book out. Thankfully, no DVT, and all appears okay, but to return to my GP for further information. Once again Watford topped the league in my eyes, Hopefully Watford will be were I go whenever or if ever I need hospital treatment
