I was referred to the Physio Department by my Rheumatologist on 6th March 2014, they sent a letter to the Princess of Wales on 20th March. For some unknown reason, that letter was not received by POW and the same letter was re-sent a month later. However, I was told as I had been waiting since March, my physio appointment would not be delayed. However, I have finally been given my first appointment on 24th July 2014, some 18 weeks after the referral letter and 20 weeks after my Rheumatologist requested I have physio. On one occasion, I was told the delay was caused by a member of staff leaving. I find this difficult to believe since most employees would be required to serve a period of notice, allowing enough time to find a replacement. I find this scenario wholly unacceptable and suggest this department needs urgent investigation.
