"Delivery suite"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I hadn't wished to have my first child at Treliske having heard fairly awful stories about other womens' experiences there during labour. However I was transferred from my chosen birthing center due to dangerously high blood pressure and received brilliant care during my daughter's delivery. My only negative comment would be about the member of staff who took me to bathe soon after the birth. I was upset to hear this particular woman curse under her breath that I was taking too long to walk myself from the delivery room to the bathroom and that she had other people to see too. She followed this by rolling her eyes and tutting when I couldn't find my wash bag due to it having been left at the birthing center during the rush to transfer me and stalked out of the bathroom leaving the door open as I was trying to lower myself into the bath. I can only hope that she no longer has a position on the team. My second child was also born here and I'm happy to say that every person who helped us through the delivery was an absolute credit to their profession. Our midwife was amazing as were all the staff who we saw during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble despite it being a very busy day for them and they made the birth an incredibly positive experience.
