About: Royal Oldham Hospital

Have been trying to find out what's wrong with me for nearly 3 years. I have no transport to get to the various hospitals in the trust. Fairfield for the camera down throat got there early cost £26 taxi one way £22 return journey home. They were overbooked so was last patient and opted to be awake because would have been there 3 hours longer if I had anesthetic. Didn't get home until 7.30pm. Then weeks later was sent to Rochdale infirmary for ph test, I requested an apppintment nearer home via PALS I live in Oldham. The lady was nice I explained about losing my job because of my health and my finances not good. When she rang me back it was like it was a different person. I was told either go to that appointment or go back to your gp because they only have one doctor in the whole of the trust that can perform that procedure. So £15 taxi there a friend picked me up. And 2 £15 taxis the next day to have it removed. The nurses on every occasion have been great but the admin and reception staff seem to think the harder they make it for a patient the more likely they will have a miraculous recovery and so not bother them. I rang my doctors today for results and they're not ready. Fair enough it's only been a little over a week but I am on medication and am having some problems so tried to book an appointment with my own Doctor and was told can't have one for 2weeks I explained that my Doctor was aware of the problems getting an appointment and she told me to tell the receptionist to make me one. I was offered a telephone consult with a different doctor. I accepted this as there was no alternative. A couple hours later receptioist rang and said they had decided to give me an appointment with another Doctor tomorrow. One who I have met once before. I'm really scared for the future of anyone living in Oldham unless you have heart or cancer problems you will be passed out of borough. Don't get ill in Oldham.
