"absolute disgrace"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

my mother I law was due a back operation last Wednesday and this got cancelled the night before, this was rearranged for today, she arrived at 7am and was told she was goling down at 11 am, another lady who arrived after her went down to theatre, we were then told to wait until 5 if they have a bed, they had a bed and then the op got cancelled again, she could not eat or drink all day and then for this to happen is an absolute disgrace, they then said she could stay tonight and go in 1st thing tomorrow this was once again changed to Wednesday, this is messing wih peoples lifes who are afraid of operations and get all prepared and then to be told twice is a disgrace, surely there should be a system in place where if you are having an op you go in on the date and have the op, an op is booked in for a reason and should be followed through properly I think this is a disgrace and wuld ask everyone to avoid walsgrave Coventry university hospital thanks adam

Adam, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent experience of Neurology at University Hospital, Coventry in June 2014. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that operations take place as planned, cancellations as a result of emergencies taking a clinical priority sometimes happen. When this takes place the Trust does try to reschedule as soon as possible. We would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns with you and explain this in further detail. If you feel this would be useful please contact the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 028 4203.
