"My nose would not stop bleeding"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

I have been having nose bleeds. Since last year on the 10th February my nose started to bleed at about five o’clock in the morning and it wouldn’t stop. My husband took me to hospital where they took my blood pressure and gave me an ice pack to put on my head. I had already done this at home before I went in. I came back home at 8.30am and went to see the doctor a couple of hours later. The hospital said I needed to be on blood pressure tablets but the doctor wasn’t very pleased to do that. He booked an appointment for me for the week after to see the nurse. On the same day, at around 6.00pm my nose started to bleed again. That night my daughter took me back to hospital. They didn’t do anything that time and gave me a number for the ear, nose and throat clinic. I came back home and then at 9.00pm it started to bleed again. I waited till 11.30pm then my husband took me back. That was three times in one day that I had been to the hospital. By this time I was worried about it and they told me they were taking me up to ward 12 to stay in overnight. By this time it was about 1.00 am and my husband went home. They took my blood pressure again and said not to get out of bed unless there was a nurse with me. At 10.00am the doctor took me to his room and questioned me. He gave me some cream to sniff up my nose for two weeks in case of infection. At 2.00pm it started bleeding again so we had to phone ward 12 and just go in again.
