"Excellence in ward 9"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

Every member of staff with whom I came into contact after my stroke, were, without exception, the most caring and sympathetic people I have ever met, anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I watched as people in a worse state than me were treated with dignity and good humour even under severe provocation, even threats of physical violence by one patient were brushed aside and the same level of care offered to that patient as too all of us .A very happy and caring environment was my overall impression, whilst personally undergoing the most devastating moments in my life so far. I Thank you ,One and all.

Dear David I was so sorry to hear about your sudden stroke - I am aware of how devastating this can feel and I do hope you are doing well at home. Thank you so much for sharing your story of care at Wansbeck Hospital. It means so much that you have taken the time to give the team on ward 9 such wonderful feedback. Knowing that you experienced such high levels of care at such a critical time is so rewarding. Consistency really matters to us - it is an important part of what delivering high quality care is all about. It is therefore really reassuring to know that you also witnessed all around you receiving the same high levels of care and compassion. Our staff work extremely hard to provide care that is both dignified and respectful - I know just how much Joanne and the team will value your kind feedback. Thank you again. With all best wishes for your continued recovery, Annie
