"cardiology after care"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I wrote a review 22.2 14 regarding the excellent treatment we recieved whist my husband was having cardioversion.I could not speak highly enough and was impressed beyond all my expectatioms. On leaving we were told that we would get a 6 week aftercare appointment for an ECG to ensure that he has'nt reverted back to an irregular heartbeat.May 19th still no appointment so when we phoned we were told that they had'nt replied as he had cancelled his cardioversion! We were told to phone the cardiology dept to make an ECG appointment may 23rd and 3 messages left and numerous unaswered phone calls later still nothing.Am gutted that its like this as his treatment and care received on the day of his cardioversion was amazing!I want to believe this is a one off mistake but I understand from other tales that it is'nt and I am a huge fan of the hospital and NHS.The actual concern is that mu husband could actually have a stroke or worse if he goes untreated and unchecked...this is'nt a trip to the hairdresser where your fring has been cut 1 cm too short ...this is serious..but as a hair salon owner we keep up to date records of all our chemical treatments which are carefully filed away and checked regularly ...and thats only hair colour ! Am really saddened by this and concerned for my husbands health
