"Basildon labour ward and obstetric care"

About: Basildon University Hospital

(as the patient),

In March 07 i went to basildon hosptal to be induced and was very disappointed with the care that i recived while in labour, espeically by one of the midwifes who told me to shut up as i was making too much noise.

I was given an internal whilst having a contraction and my partner was made to leave and i was not monitored during the six hours of my labour. I was rushed into the labour room when i was nine cm dilated and had my son with no birth partner.

My placenta had broken up inside and they could not stop the bleed. I also had the same thing happen ten years previous with my daughter who i nearly lost as the placenta came before her and was in labour for a good fourty eight hours , I understand that what happend to my placenta is not the hospitals fault but I am not happy with the service i recieved especially when i showed my concern throughout my pregnancy. But they did not seem concerned even with my high bloodpressure and abnormal blood results and my previous birth.
