"My Nan suffered from a fractured hip back in March..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

My Nan suffered from a fractured hip back in March. My Nan was treated on B2 station 1. I have to say that I work within this hospital and the care that my Nan received made me proud to be part of the trust. Due to the fact that my Nan is also registered blind, and has vascular dementia she was scared and confused, she did not know what was going on. The staff on B2 station 1 who looked after her were fantastic. The care was second to none. The names of the staff I do not want to say, as I would hate to miss out the names of anyone as every single member of staff, including physios and OTs, did everything in their power to not only make my Nan feel at ease but also the family, including myself. I feel that I wanted to make these members of staff recognised for something that they do everyday, naturally. They need to understand what a comfort it is to family members to know that their loved ones are in such capable and kind hands. A big massive thank you to B2

Response from The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the care your nan received during her stay on ward B2. As a member of Trust staff yourself, you will know how hard our ward staff work to give all patients the best possible care, so it particularly lovely to receive such high praise from you.

Making sure we cater for the additional needs of our patients is incredible important to us, especially when patients are distressed or frightened, so it is good to know that the team on B2 were able to put your nan at ease during her stay.

I’m sure the team involved in your nan’s care will be thrilled to receive your lovely comments when we pass them on.
