I had a large complex surgery to remove a tumour in my hip bone. I stayed in hospital for 6 weeks and was sent home with an open wound. I had an excellent district nurse service as well as a brilliant community physiotherapy. This allowed me to start walking with a prosthetic leg and be able to drive and get back to work.
