"A horrible stay in hospital after giving birth"

After giving birth to my baby daughter and receiving great care during delivery, I was moved to the labour ward of Warrington General. It was awful. After two hours sleep and the most exhausting night of my life, I was woken for my breakfast of 1 Wheatabix. The ladies who brought in my breakfast pulled to curtain back and shouted across the room to her colleague 'Hey we have a new one here'.

The cleaners came in a kept brushing under my bed, great you may think, well I wish they had concentrated on the toilets which were disgusting not great when you have open wounds.

After a few hours my daughter started to cry so I tried to feed her myself, which I couldn't do, the midwife came over to help told me my baby was getting distressed and then never came back. In the end we asked for a bottle as we were really struggling and there was no help. We were told bottle feeding was no condoned but we did not feel we had a choice as our daughter was very hungry.

We then had the hearing test done, the bounty lady arrived and then another lady crowded round the bed to ask if we would like picture taking, good grief, I just felt like screaming, 'leave us alone’.

I ended up discharging myself after just 12 hours or so as I could not stand it any longer, it was a dirty, unorganised, invasive, scary and generally horrible experience.

I am now expecting again and the only bit I am worried about in the stay on labour ward, lets just hope everything goes well and we can leave as soon as possible. Saying that I am now 4 months pregnant and still have not received an appointment for a scan or a booking in appointment even though I have phoned and chased, I will probably be having the baby by the time I get the booking appointment through.
