I arrived in A&E with slight chest tightness and was seen within a matter of minutes and before I knew it, I was in resus with drips, hooked up to ECGs, and on oxygen. After a quick x-ray (which was taken without me even needing to be moved)- I was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia. This all took place within half an hour despite the hospital being very busy. I'm young and just moved to Manchester away from my family, so the experience was slightly unnerving without having support but I cannot fault the doctors and nurses in any way. I am so surprised about the level of care I received when I first arrived, I wish I could thank them all individually. I was kept in hospital for a couple of days and was put on a same-sex ward. I was nervous about having to stay overnight at the hospital so the nurses made an extra effort to sit with me during their shifts to try and make me feel more comfortable. Overall, the care I received from every single doctor, nurse, and porter from this hospital was absolutely incredible. This hospital should be the leading standard of care in the UK.
"Amazed!"
