"Endoscopy Unit - flexible sigmoidoscopy"

About: Central Middlesex Hospital

I went in for a flexible sigmoidoscopy. The wait was long - over an hour - but they explained they were very busy, which I could see was true. But once called, the staff were brilliant, very helpful, very considerate. In conversations it became apparent that a number of staff worked straight through their lunch break (and got to grab a sandwich at about 4pm), which I thougth testified to the department's busyness and to the staff's commitment to care. Procedure itself went fine, one doctor was evidently training another in performing the procedure, but that was not a problem. Nurses were brilliant. You can be nervous having this sort of procedure. Staff were brilliant.
