"Lack of information"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

My great Aunt is in ward 9 at the moment. We are not being informed of anything for example when she fell we only found out the next day when I rang for an update and if I hadn't rang nobody would have told us. When I visited today she also had the same clothes on from Tuesday which were very dirty and there was only 1 item of washing for me from 2 days. I would have spoken to the staff about my concerns but they were extremely busy tonight. I cannot fault the staff but there just doesn't seem to be enough of them.

Dear Sir/Madam I am extremely concerned to read your feedback. I can absolutely understand your concern for your great aunt. The care you describe is something that falls far short of the standards we expect for our patients. I know that Tracy Young the matron for ward 9 will be very keen to find out more and to help you. I would be very grateful if you could contact me at Annie.laverty@northumbria-healthcare.nhs.uk as soon as you can, so I can put you in touch with Tracy. Best Wishes Annie
