"Getting information before I move: my diary"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

+ This is my diary + of trying to get information before moving house. I have psoriatic arthritis and a year ago I was lucky enough to be funded by my local PCT, Bexley London Borough, for Humira, one of the new biological wonder drugs. My self injections, once a fortnight, are not as bad as you might think, and the results are a 50% improvement. So, now we have decided to move back to Devon to be with our family, my priority is to find out if the Mid-Devon PCT will fund my wonder drug. March 1st : wrote to the GP in the area we wish to move to. March 4th : he phoned!! He hasn't heard of Humira and suggests I ask my own consultant who will no doubt know the consultants in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. He says consultants are more likely to speak to other consultants than humble GPs, but he will join me "on the ramparts" if the news is bad and I want to demonstrate. What a nice man. March 20th : write to my consultant, the lovely Dr Bamji of Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. Look up Devon estate agents on the net.
