What could be improved

Communication of length of waiting time at paediatric A & E was unacceptable. Once admitted to ward, the length of time left unchecked due to pressure on staff was also unacceptable,I was left for 2hrs at one point. My daughter had a drip put in for fluid replacement but the needle wasn't put in very well and the machine also didn't seem to be working properly and within 20 minutes of drip set up I noticed my daughter had developed a severe oedema from her foot to knee as the fluid had gone into the tissue instead of bloodstream, this was in the initial stages and obviously not being monitored closely enough. I felt I was left just to get on with it!
