"Macular Hole Surgery"

I was daunted at the prospect of having this operation, however, the Consultant put me at ease from the initial pre-operation appointment to the ensuing operation. I had my operation about two months ago, and the result has been a fantastic success. I feel privileged to have had this treatment on the NHS, and deeply grateful to the consultant for his skill and care. The operation itself although intricate was not an unpleasant experience, rather like a visit to the dentist with no pain or discomfort.
