"Walked in with housswives knee"

About: Grantham & District Hospital

Was told the wait was 2 hours. After 25mins was seen by a nurse. 25mins later seen by a doctor who found out blood poisoning from the knee and arranged for admission for 4 days. The whole process took about 4 hours. When you think that the health service does not have doctors and nurses waiting in a room just for you they have to work on other patients. It was noted that some patients coming to A & E could have been seen by a GP. The timings to see people will never drop unless we can get same day appointments at GPs. They should be leaving 4 hours spread over the day to see these people and open until 9pm at night. This is where some money should be spent to ease our A & E work load. They do a great job with the tools and resources they have with very little thanks.. Only one big gripe, nothing to do with the staff the food is awful. We see these other hospitals serving suburb food and winning awards at no extra cost from chilled food as shown by TV cooks showing them the way.
