I had an arthroscopy in the orthopaedics department at QMC and all went very well. The surgical and after care were excellent. The only change I would suggest is that day care patients should be operated on at the start of the list. My operation was at midday which meant I had to stay in over night. The drugs prescribed for me the next day did not arrive until after lunch, so I could not go home until 2.30pm. The over night stay and the extra meals were an added cost to the NHS which were avoidable.
