I was an inpatient on Medical 9 for 4 days. The doctors were excellent (only for my admitting team). The on-call team didn't seem to know anything about me and were very vague on post operative discharge, However The trained nurses were non exsistent, I was supposed to have 6 litres of IV fluids over 24hours, but the nurses didn't manage this and I only had 1 litre. Some shifts I rang the nurses call bell for at least 5 - 10 minutes for pain relief and the bell wasn't answered. the catering staff ......... I was delivered an incorrect meal, on questioning I was advised that was what the kitchen gave her, she then said I would have to wait...... eventually my correct meal came (cold), then I had not a complete set of cutlery, so the hostess took a fork from a patient tray opposite, rinsed it under the tap in the bay and gave me that fork ...................... no comment
"Doctors excellent, shame about the rest"
