"Appalling treatment for dying man"

My father was admitted some months ago. Throughout his 'stay' at Pembury it has been a fight to get appropriate treatment and dressings for him. On Tuesday I visited my father, who is approaching his final days to find him sitting in a chair wearing only a polo shirt. He has a catheter and his swollen genitalia were fully exposed to anyone walking past his room on Ward 22. Where is the dignity and respect there? When I pointed this out to a nurse she casually removed the pillow case and draped it across his lap, that was all! Today, for the third time in as many days it has taken a request from a family member to get his smelly dressings changed. His catheter bag had not been emptied since the day before. Then, to cap it all, the ward have tried to discharge him to another hospital without any reference to any of his family members. A dog would get better treatment than my father!
